i won't see you
i don't need to
dream of worlds you'd
lead me pleased through
graceful worlds true
sparkling brand new
hope and inspiration
grew too
faded strangled as you flew through
leave me tangled thoughts of just you
taunt those lonely memories i knew
haunt me with needs now you eschew
haunt me now as once i needed you
find a space
within your gaze
that glows with a light
that will amaze
offer glimpses in a phrase
but let your ego not be praised
and journey toward those simple ways
learn to reach through darks and greys
and pull yourself up
climb and raise
your sights
your heart, your heart it stays
your heart is smart , it know your ways
as it hangs
within your grasp
you reach with hope
that doesn't last
you reach with faith as in your past
forgetful consciousness you clasp
and fall asunder met by blasts
of cold indifference and that nasti-
ness of futile celebrations of the past
declarations innocence it was a mask
empty towns
and empty rooms
like empty sounds
of phoney tunes
stirring calls of lonely loons
across the lake lit by moon
your fall from grace it came to soon
and so you found yourself in ruin
your pieces scattered, visions pruned
scoop some gems in all that has been strewn
recoup and then you hum the same old tune
i won't see you
i don't need to
dream of worlds you'd
lead me pleased through
graceful worlds true
sparkling brand new
hope and inspiration
grew too
faded strangled as you flew through
leave me tangled thoughts of just you
taunt those lonely memories i knew
haunt me with my need now you renew
haunt me as i need you …. yes i do

The speeding monster, dangerous
bears down with a roar
a gasp of fear and self survival
echoes from your core
flowers grow beside the road
blue sky high above
the hush of breath, then chaos and death
then through it all… you just feel love
i feel tragic seduction
growing lust with more and more
saucy taste and flash of skin
hors d'oeuvres once you'd ignore
real tears of devotion licked
but candy sweet you'll shove
only when dissolved with grace
you'd taste that meal you love
a fire raged, lit by your brothers'
wild and selfish fashions
the pleasures of their clarities
big hearted powered passions
your winds blow strong, thus fan the flames
you swing glowing, leather gloves
that space you made the chance to pause
to remember words, words you love
why climb trees and cliffs
why swim in the deep cold sea
why watch the bees that kiss the flowers
why read Kant and Nietszche
we play, and work, and eat, and drink
weep, smile, and laugh, and think
dream, and love, and share a cry
always wondering 'why'
that marvellous, subtle swagger of thought
ostentation... ego's gall
conceptual mirror, that third temptation
hubris, the text of your fall
such fallacy you scrape away
or blow off dusty pages
comes to rest inside your heart
love of wisdom transcends the ages

the writing on your wall
04:54
|
|||
right before my eyes
the truth is very clear
i read the writing on your wall
my cheek feels falling tear
you have that look those flickering eyes
that cannot hold my gaze
your feet are inching toward the door
while mine both stay in place
right down deep in my heart
the truth is very clear
i see you dancing joyously
as you leave me sitting here
you could have left me a parting gift
a sign of your regret
instead your smile is beaming wide
but my grimace is hard and set
why don't you love me
why do ya shove me
out the door and down the stairs
why don't you care
why don't you care for me
why don't you want me
why do ya haunt me
in my sleep and through the days
why don't you stay
why don't you say you are mine
right before my eyes
you're walking hand in hand
two pairs of eyes are sparkling
four steps are oh so grand
you look like king and queen
ah the royalty of love
while i live in memories
and wear my peasant gloves

you lie still on the cold hard ground
your heart is frozen, indifference blows around
above, the grey skies hide the sun's happy slide
i marvel at your stoic stubborn pride
while many smile with melting hearts that trickle into spring
sparkling gurling rivulets that sun and warmth will bring
you still resist that warm seduction
and with a shrug you lie so still and cold
and yet with a certain magic science
you find a way to love, and join us in the skies
your depth and breadth from clouds to seabed
i marvel at your knowing heart so wise

worn shoes and friends
04:07
|
|||
i see faces in the leaves
i hear voices in the wind
a cold touch of empty as i stare up into space
the night sky reaching down to kiss my lips, make me grin
i hear voices from the earth
and i see the cracks growing wide
i slip and slide inside and peer into the dark
i can't recall that voice of love tho' i tried
walking the road of lonely
your shoes and your friends are worn
the blurr of time a passin'
each moment dies as it's born
you enter a darkened doorway
the music inside is loud
you figure, smoke and drink will cleanse your wounds
but you find yourself more damaged by the crowd
angry faces in the leaves
lonely voices in the winds
a mocking touch of pity as i stare up into space
night sky showers chuckles then a nasty laugh begins
i feel judgment from the earth
a call to relinquish seven lies
i choose to peer inside into the dark
and still i can't recall that voice of love tho' i tried
as i saunter my thoughts roam wildly
many worn notions tired and old
any comfort offered over long years
now weights me down like fool's embedded gold
another darkness with air so dank
something fresh about the cool
echos of a grief so hushed but still ringing
i abandon all my choices as a rule
peaceful faces in the leaves
soothing voices in the winds
awe…. i stare up into space
silence from the vast feels like a grace
i hear voices from that child
and feel the cracks growing wide
i slip and slide inside and peer into the past
i see that flow of love around and inside
walking the road of lonely
your shoes and your friends are worn
the blurr of time a passin'
each moment dies as it's born
walking the road of lonely
your shoes and your friends are worn
the blurr of time a passin'
each moment dies as it's born

heartbreak
03:29
|

you won't wonder at the rain
your heart's thunder silenced with pain
dreams melt and flow from your eyes
fall from your face, flowing lies
to the earth all turns grey
no sky no sun, no place to go or stay
no thoughts of tomorrow just weight
buried in the night, a kinda wounded hate
hope's blood drips to just stay alive
all faith in your heart is just contrived
you won't even wonder at the light
only blindness and hunger and blight
to the earth all grows dark
no sky, no stars, no signs no marks
no vision of clarity just dull
no thoughts, or inspirations in your hollow skull
you won't marvel at the beauty
lost the sense of wonder that was your duty
can't drink or taste or hear or see
can't grant your heart it's freedom
can't feel, through numbness and apathy
can't let your heart be free
can't feel and can't be
can't pour out anymore you're empty

love and hope
02:33
|
|||
are you full of love
are you full of fear
is your world of sun
are your days of drear
do you lie like a rock
or dance as a child
do your thoughts never change
or are they always new and wild
can you take the first step
or fall back asleep
in the grey early morn
so you are born
ahhhhhhh
are you full of sway
and light on your feet
or stiff from belief
do you break with defeat
do you close your eyes
when the light is bright
and close your eyes
in the darkness of night
and fall back asleep
find peace until the end
in the grey early morn
so you are born
again
are you rich with dreams
do they give you laughs of gold
has hope lost it's appeal
as it mounts your well built scaffold
can you feel the winds
of hope's final breath
can you see it as a chance
to take a test of death
can you roll your eyes with a grin
and then maybe you'll smile
or have you convinced yourself
that love is not your style
again

distant dreams
04:42
|
|||
how can you leave
all the sunny dreams
you found in your darkness
you loved in your nights
buried mountains
poured out seas
fallen skies
your world on it's knees
you are dragged into sunrise
across your concrete will
ego torn and bleeding
hope's wound, deeper still
you watch now distant dreams
fade from your view
you sit in your clouds
and cold rain is your truth
but the rain today makes flowers grow
and clouds fly by and feel the winds blow
and the sun and the stars'll shine and glow
can you use that light to see inside and so
you'll find in the dark the love you know ……. is there
and help you let those old dreams go….. away somewhere
it's hard i know …… do you dare
her eyes glare hard
the door slams loud
you feel a frozen gust across
your heart
buried years
memories poured to grey
crumples plans
thrown away
you're pushed into your hollow self
echoing your tears
like rain from those clouds
a terrible dance of fears
you watch now distant hope
fade from your view
you sit amid your clouds
and cold rain's your truth
but the rain today makes flowers grow
and clouds fly by and feel the winds blow
and the sun and the stars'll shine and glow
can you use that light to see inside and so
and help you let those old dreams go….. away somewhere
it's hard i know …… do you dare
how can you leave
all the memories
you made through your life
you carry in your heart
buried joys
and scars that glow
stories and dances shared
and times only you know
you're walk into sunset
your will has learned to sigh
your world of calm is turning
you watch the others cry
you watch now distant dreams
fade from your view
you sit amid your clouds
and peace is now your truth
but the rain today makes flowers grow
and clouds fly by and feel the winds blow
and the sun and the stars'll shine and glow
can you use that light to see inside and so
you'll find in the dark the love you know ……. is there

cerulean blue
04:43
|
|||
morning light, drowns the night
leaves my peaceful dreams to fight
with daily echoes of my youth
frozen rigging, my deepest truth
blue, so blue
sky of liquid caroline
sapphire waters warm to skin
i drown blue in cerulean
i rise and pull my canvas o'er me
paint my beauty so the world sees
my child's heart tied with a wrong
constricted rhythm same old song
my fallen eyelids over haunting stare
can't watch them whirl to a windy nowhere
all my skin and half my soul
stripped to a shivering sigh

oh that muse
03:18
|
|||
i see her walking in the cold
is her glow just my creation
in the shadowed streets of this empty town
she strides with determination
her hair is long and dark i think
but her hat is pulled down low
her pace and gait unhurried
her footprints in the snow
i glance across my moonlit room
those sheets like a nest or prison
that lonely figure i loved so well
just smiled at my decision
with trepidation in the dark
a murder of suitors starved
smitten stumbling staggering forth
singing of their scars
chorus
as if she heard my observation
she halts and looks my way
the gaggle gasps, the flock it falters
they stand and stare and sway
she turns her head and with a wink
she gestures to the famished
they shiver, hungry, the desperate ones
find all kindness vanished
chorus
why that smile as she looked my way
i'll never understand
into the distance of the night
her humbleness so grand
then the moon behind the clouds
leaves her vanished in the dark
as she's gone my heart then twists
lonely futile stark

greens and blues
04:21
|
|||
Adrift, but a gust
A silent moment’s rust
Trailing past and falling drips
Hope and beauty’s canvas rips
Jewels and velvet walls
Dreams of smiling dolls
Draining away
On such a sunny day
Greens and blues
Paths you choose
Yellows, reds so bright I see
In your heart, but not with me
It’s free for thee, open and true
Green and growing, flowing blue
Awaken a rival glimpse
As she trails her fascination
Down it sinks below
A moment’s lost elation
World fades away
Melting shapes of clay
Gray and lost and flowing
Imagination slowing
How the tides of wonder
Ebb and flow toward death
Brightness smiles at tragedy
Gasping for each breath
And when my eyelid’s heavy
And breadth of vision fades
Dream my hero in colour
As through the dark waters he wades

down, down, down
04:03
|
|||
in the dark and chill of the morning
we rise and light the lamp
all but one child still sleeping
light the stove against the cold and damp
hungry monsters race across the lands
we feed them all both steel and bone
but it's for my hearts to the depths i go
to the grip of these times we're all thrown
coal dust black and coating skin
in our lungs for all our days
changing world to this silent raging glow
a death dance in our cells is how it pays
those times are buried 'neath the glass and steel
they rise, keep our feet high off the earth
stories of that darkness lingers
memories, precious…. more than all the coal was worth
so much of day spent in the depths
many dreams so blackened by the glow
the warmth of dusk the choices then accepted
the miles that passed and now i go

when will it turn
02:18
|
|||
will it turn before i go
or just keep on rolling
will i open my eyes
or keep roaming, in the dark
blind i may be,
trapped in illusion
when will it turn
when will it turn
when will it turn
when will it turn
will it turn before i go
everything keeps changing
a line in every holy book
we all walk those words
and all the spaces, our silence in between
they echo in my mind
pages cold and heartless
when will it turn
when will it turn
when will it turn
when will it turn
will it turn before i go
oh it's a hard nut
sure don't crack easy
in my pocket since i's a boy
lost my rusty hammer, running from the rain
blind once was, blind i'll remain
when will it turn
when will it turn
when will it turn
when will it turn
will it turn before i go
